I’m not surprised to see “New Zealand: Last Morning in the Country” shown as a related post. I thought of that photo at once when I saw this one.
The golden color is beautiful, but it did bring to mind a wry thought: perhaps the pollen might be even heavier than I’ve realized. This past week, that particular downside of spring has been particularly irksome.

You do have a good memory for pictures in posts. In this case I joined you in remembering that New Zealand sunrise. Now if I could just find a Hauraki Gulf in my neighborhood….
You won’t be surprised to hear that people in Austin have been suffering from spring pollen as well. On the good side, that means plenty of wildflowers have come out and are continuing to come out.
Congratulations on being the first person ever to use the word irksome in a comment here.

I don’t get to photograph many good sunsets in Austin, so I welcomed this one.

And for once I could record a scene that was this dramatic
Without scrunching on the ground and acting acrobatic.

Dramatic! Great shot, Steve. Clouds always make a sunset remarkable.

Yes, I noticed that after I had posted the comment. Well, it is dramatic! No better word for it.

High drama. I rarely see sunsets preferring the early morning. I take it that sunsets are not something you see often? based on a comment above.

Austin doesn’t often have picturesque sunsets, and when we do get one I’m usually not in a good place to picture it. This one was monochrome but at least the clouds added drama and I had plenty of time to get in place. In fact I did more waiting than I expected to.
