Engelmann daisies and other wildflowers
It’s been a while since I showed you any Engelmann daisies, Engelmannia peristenia, so here’s a group I photographed along US 183 in Williamson County on April 19th. The yellow-orange flower heads behind the Engelmann daisies are greenthread, Thelesperma filifolium, and of course the prominent color in the background is from a colony of bluebonnets, Lupinus texensis. It’s now six weeks later, and to my surprise I’m still finding a few stray bluebonnets flowering around Austin.
