Time for buttonbush

 

Today’s picture from Mills Pond in far north Austin goes back to June 2nd. Even so, I can confirm that the buttonbushes (Cephalanthus occidentalis) in central Texas are still flowering. Whether many of them have also attracted ants the way this one did, I don’t know.
