Violet punctuating mellow yellow

 

Look how the small violet flowers of prairie agalinis, Agalinis heterophylla, punctuated the larger expanse of mellow yellow created by a colony of goldenrod, Solidago sp., in far northeast Austin on October 2. Plants in nature grow all jumbled together; that’s just how it is.
