Waterfall Wednesday #6

Looks like ice formations, don’t you think?
Yet it was water coming over Stone Bridge Falls in Bull Creek on June 5th.
A shutter speed of 1/3200 effected the transformation.

  1. Looks like a work of metallic art.

  2. That looks refreshing! I’ll have to draw on that later when I am working outdoors in the mid-ninety degree humidity and heat today!

    • I happened to be back at this waterfall yesterday morning. It wasn’t flowing nearly as forcefully. What hadn’t gone down is the Texas summer heat and humidity.

  3. Indeed! Or a curtain of ice.

  4. I thought it was some shot from February that you’d just found! Great capture.

    • I toyed with the idea of putting a February ice picture first, followed by this one, and only then explaining that the second picture doesn’t show ice at all.

  5. I see weeds growing, but my lens is always of green growing things. 🙂

    • I never would have seen this as weeds. Your view is indeed influenced by green growing things.

  7. I agree, Steve. If you had asked for thoughts about this photo, ice formations likely would have been one of the responses.

    • Your comment suggests a way I could’ve presented this photograph: show it with no mention of ice, and solicit people’s impressions. I suggested yet another way to Tina (above): I could have put a February ice picture first, followed by this one, and only at the end explained that the second picture doesn’t show ice at all. Whether I’d suggested ice or not, I suspect most people easily see ice in this photograph.
