Large buttercup
On February 27, 2010, I photographed this large buttercup, Ranunculus macranthus, that was opening at McKinney Falls State Park in southeast Austin.

I see that even in Austin the low temperature is predicted to be a bit below freezing today. It was a lot warmer there at this time in 2010.
