Another view from Lost Maples

Here’s another and closer look at one of the bigtooth maples, Acer grandidentatum, I photographed in Lost Maples State Park and Natural Area on November 14th. The gnarled trunk, with a bole below its narrowest part and pronounced widening above, caught my attention as much as the colorful leaves.
