Woolly paperflower

I take this to be woolly paperflower, Psilostrophe tagetina, which I photographed at Monahans Sandhills State Park on April 13th. For me this west Texas wildflower is exotic, but there’s a familiar Austin species, the four-nerve daisy, that also turns papery.
