Indian mallow flower

And now, after the bud in the previous photograph, you get to see a fully open Indian mallow flower, which grows to about 3/8 of an inch (1 cm) across. You can tell from the protruding structure at the center of the flower that the genus Abutilon is in the Malvaceae, or mallow family.

Like yesterday’s picture, this one comes from Great Hills Park on May 14.
