Closer to one of the cousins
It’s been a while since these pages have offered a close view of gaura, so in case you’d like a refresher, here it is. As in the previous post’s picture, the background color is from some pink evening primroses, which are in the same botanical family.
Date: April 16. Place: the west side of Interstate 35 just south of Little Texas Ln. in south Austin.

Cousins
Gaura and pink evening primrose are cousins in the botanical family called Onagraceae. This view looks out on a graceful colony of gaura, with the pink evening primroses providing extra background color.
Date: April 16. Place: the west side of Interstate 35 just south of Little Texas Ln. in south Austin. That Texas lane may have been little, but the colony of gaura was so big that the photograph shows only a small portion of it.
