Mexican plum tree blossoming
By midday on March 13th I was tired after a couple of hours of hiking and photographing (and lugging my heavy camera bag) at McKinney Falls State Park. Based on encounters there in springtimes past, I hoped to find a densely flowering Mexican plum tree, Prunus mexicana, but all I found was a few that didn’t have a lot of flowers and then one that did have but wasn’t in a place where I could get a clear shot of it (I still have scratches on my legs that prove I tried). I was about to head home but I pushed myself to check out one more place in the park, and this pastel picture shows the wide and widely blossoming Mexican plum tree that rewarded my effort.
If you’re interested in photography as a craft, you’ll find that points 6 and 15 in About My Techniques are relevant to this photograph.
