When purple is white
And speaking of Kathy Comer’s place, as I did yesterday, Eve and I paid a more recent visit on September 22 after Kathy alerted me to a white variant of Liatris mucronata that she’d seen along the country road to her ranch. By the time I got out there a few days later that specimen had faded, but I was fortunate to find a few others, as shown here. The many small white specks scattered around the Liatris are white heliotropes, Heliotropium tenellum, making their first appearance in this blog.
