Water playing a different role

The water you saw yesterday was in a pond and served only as an indistinct background made blue by the clear sky overhead. In contrast, the water I photographed when I looked straight down on September 17 was at the edge of a creek that had flowed strong from three days of rain but was already drying out. Its shallow stillness allowed thousands of tiny bubbles to form, though only briefly; a few days later all this was gone.

If yesterday’s photograph exemplified point 14 in About My Techniques, today’s exemplifies point 15, which is its antithesis. The complexity shown in this image is different from the one I recorded in the same location in the last days of 2011.
