Bluebell bud

I visited a surviving bit of prairie in northeast Austin on May 16th, and for the first time this year I found and photographed some bluebells, Eustoma exaltatum, including this svelte bud preparing to unroll into a flower. As some of you heard me say last year, bluebells aren’t blue: just compare the color of the sky.
